TUITION AND TUITION ASSISTANCE

Because the diversity of our school community is a priority, we work hard to keep tuition rates at affordable levels, and offer generous financial aid to families that qualify for it. Currently 40 percent of Marymount families receive tuition assistance, and we award more than $1 million in aid each year.

Tuition Assistance Application Process
The request for assistance for new students is a separate process from the admission process. It does not affect one’s application for admission. As funds are limited and competition keen, families are strongly encouraged to complete their application by the Friday, February 1, 2019 deadline. Grants toward tuition are awarded annually and are need-based. Award letters are mailed on Friday, March 8, 2019.

The Tuition Assistance Application  is a Four Step Process:

  1. Complete the online Tuition Assistance Application at https://sss.secure.force.com/familyportal
  2. If this is your first time applying to Marymount, please submit copies of tax returns and W-2’s from 2017 to
    the Admission Office
  3. When available, submit copies of tax returns and W-2’s from 2018 to the Admission Office
  4. Submit a letter detailing special family financial circumstances, if any

Please do not jeopardize the consideration of your family’s application for tuition assistance by filing late or not completing your file. Late applications will only be considered after all timely applications have been reviewed and then only if there are funds remaining.

After Friday, March 22, 2019, Marymount moves to a rolling admission process. We will continue to accept both admission applications and tuition assistance applications on a first-come, first-served space-available basis.

Marymount of Santa Barbara supports a long-standing commitment to make a Marymount education accessible to students from diverse backgrounds with varied interests and talents. In order to accomplish this goal, we offer a Tuition Assistance Program and a variety of payment plans.

With the help of generous contributions from alumni/ae, parents, faculty and staff, and charitable foundations, Marymount of Santa Barbara offers financial aid to deserving students with limited financial resources.

It is important that the family assumes primary responsibility for financing a student’s education. Families must consider all their personal resources when applying to the school for funds. Income is only one determining factor for assistance; thus, there is no one “profile” that qualifies or disqualifies a family to receive aid. Tuition assistance awards vary greatly depending on circumstances; awards have varied from $1000 to an amount approaching full tuition.
