The John Pitman Library at Marymount Our link to the world of ideas and information.
The John Pitman Library is the heart of the campus. The library welcomes the Marymount community to become effective users of ideas and information.
Constructed in 1968, the library collection contains 18,000 volumes and media materials. Mr. John Pitman served the school as a parent, volunteer, architect, and President of the first Board of Trustees of the newly incorporated school in 1972. The spacious facilities in this teaching library are designed for students to enjoy studying, researching, and browsing.
The library education scope and sequence provides learning experiences that encourage students to become independent, discriminating consumers, and skilled creators of information. Students learn to enjoy reading as a source of pleasure and lifelong learning.
Our professional library teaching staff provides leadership in seeking new paths to collaborative teaching, research, and service for the Marymount community.
