Thank you for your interest in Marymount of Santa Barbara. We are delighted to provide you with information regarding our extraordinary school. Founded in 1938, Marymount is an independent kindergarten through eighth grade school, which instills a thirst for knowledge, develops core values, and creates a supportive, academic community. Situated on ten rolling acres on the former El Cerrito estate in the heart of Santa Barbara’s Riviera, Marymount provides an unsurpassed physical setting with state-of-the- art facilities that nurture strong academics and character.

Marymount appreciates your interest in our school and we can assure you that we will give your application our full consideration. We seek to enroll students of educational promise whose families will offer strong support and engage fully in the life of Marymount. Admission depends upon space availability and an appropriate fit for the student. Students are selected based on interviews, academic screenings, recommendations, and school records. We value a diverse student population and hold a nondiscriminatory admissions policy. If you are applying for financial aid, the Admission Office will be happy to provide you with financial aid forms. Please follow the steps below when applying and address all questions and correspondence to the Director of Admission. Our application deadline is February 15.

HOW TO APPLY

Schedule a parent appointment to tour the campus.
Complete and return to the Director of Admission the enclosed application form with a non-refundable fee of $100.
Request a letter of recommendation from your child’s current teacher.
When all of the above items are received, an appointment will be made for your child to visit the school.

Admission depends upon space availability and student suitability for programs. Developmental readiness and academic potential are considered; students must be at grade level or above and have a history of appropriate school behavior. All other factors being equal, and honoring our commitment to current families, preference is given to siblings of present students. All qualified students are placed in an applicant pool from which students who are best suited to join the class are selected.
